I´ve read many company profiles over the years that tell about the very basics of a company´s history, services and leadership. I´ve always felt that there should be more to the story. This is why I want to tell you the "story" of DHP Home Delivery Company.
From 1988 to 2002 I worked for a multi national Fortune 500 company. I started at the bottom as a customer service representative and worked my way up to a Senior Level Manager overseeing hundreds of employees and locations. I was living in Colorado with my wife and daughter and life was great. I was putting in the normal 60 hour work week and enjoying time with "my girls" (wife and daughter) on the weekends. The only draw back was being far away from my parents and siblings and my wife´s family. They were all living in the southeastern part of the country. My father was a Plant Manager for Kendall Healthcare and living in South Carolina with my mother, my sister and her son. They cared for my sister who had MS and basically were raising her son. My younger brother still lived in our home town of Albertville, Alabama and my wife´s family lived in North Carolina.
In 2001 my father retired from Kendall and he and my mother decided to move back to Alabama to be closer to my brother and "circle the wagons" so to speak in regards to providing care for my sister. When I learned of this, I wanted to be closer. I put in for a transfer to my old stomping grounds in Birmingham, Alabama where I would only be about an hour away. I later discovered that this would not be close enough. So, after 14 years I resigned my employment and moved home. I had decided to start my own business but wasn´t sure what it would be or what I would do. In a short period of time it hit me. My parents needed a variety of home healthcare products for my sister and sometimes they were hard to find. My father who worked for Kendall Healthcare knew of only a few distributors that focused on home delivery. We began discussions about this and soon after DHP Home Delivery Company was born. I felt that there was a need for quality healthcare products to be delivered anywhere in the contiguous US and this would be the foundation of my business.
DHP Home Delivery Company was founded in 2002 with the concept of delivering disposable healthcare products (DHP) to individuals at home using discretion, quality products and unparalleled customer service. We started with only a few product lines and have grown this to multiple product lines and services.
